Dear readers and followers,
we are now uploading british lace classics. of importance we highlight The Nottingham Manual (achr-URN: 154) because Nottingham lace is a “Primary Witness” to the Industrial Revolution’s impact on craft. While the other books in achr collection focus on the village-based hand-crafts, the Nottingham school of thought was about preserving the patterns while utilizing the speed of the looms.
i highlight patterns because the remaining books in these collections should not be put aside just because the hand methods are no longer relevant due to industrialisation.
the patterns in each book represent a historical testimony of fashions and cultural heritage.
in virtue of such please keep up to date wiith our register . Thank you!
